Itochu: a ZOURI shop of Kyoto. Interesting! Japanese traditional shoes. 京都草履店「伊と忠」さんでみっけ！

Today it was a sunny day!☀I went out and felt good!
I visited Kyoto with my favorite Zouri, which needed repairing.

Zouri is  one of Japanese traditional shoes worn with kimonos. I have cherished my white zouri since it was given as a present three years before. Because I usually wear it, I often have to exchange the rubber soles😅 So I went to Itochu, one of famous zouri shops of Kyoto: it was started in 1895 (Meiji era).

今日は朝から快晴でいい気持ち。延期に延期を重ねていたお気に入りの草履の修理のために、購入先の京都の草履店「伊と忠（いとちゅう）」さんにお邪魔しました。
修理といっても踵のゴムを取り替えるだけなのですが、摩耗しているのを無理に履くと裏の革の部分まですり減ってやられてしまうので、交換するまで履けないのです😢

The shop is located on Shijou street of the downtown. The seasonal decoration of Setsubun could be seen in the window with pairs of zouri and bags.

Red and green Oni like ogres. The upper woman is called Otafuku.

もうすぐ節分なので、ショウウィンドウにはお多福、鬼の飾り。道行く人々の目を楽しませてくれます😃季節感があって素敵です。お店に入る前から、もうテンションがハイ（笑



Though I thought it took about ten minutes for exchanging the rubber soles, finally I staied there for more than 30 minutes. The former customer, a Chinese tourist, and the clerk had difficlty to understand each other's language. So I got unexpected and enough time to look at all zouri exhibited at the shop🎵

To my surprise, she bought a very expensive bag without hesitation. She is so rich!!😂haha

10分ほどでお店を出るはずでした。が、先客の外国人マダムが頑張ってやりとりしていたので待つこと30分。無駄な緊張感なく、初めて店内をじっくり、ゆっくり見ることができました（笑）

結局、すごく高いバッグと草履を躊躇なく買って行かれ、隣で聞いていた（聞くな！）私の方がドキドキ😂

Now the deep freeze spreads across all over the U.S. according to international news. I think if I wear a kimono there absolutery I will need this!😭

珍しい？動物の革コーナー

There were also zouri using the leather of crocodile, ostrich and ray. I could not look at their price tags😂 Sometime I want to buy zouri of ray...

After repairing I had lunch with my father. Next time I will write that thing.

入ってすぐの目立つ陳列棚に珍しい動物の革コーナーがありました。ワニ、ダチョウそして（たぶん）エイ。本当に個性的で素敵😍

アザラシなんかは実用的でもあります。今アメリカを襲っている大寒波にも対処できそう（南極より寒い州があるらしい😨）。

どれもこれも興味があるけれど、怖くて値札は見ずじまい（笑）いつか欲しい．．．
今度は晴雨兼用の草履を買いに来ようかしら。

そうこうするうちに、無事にマイ草履の修理が完了。ゴム交換のみならず、巻きが汚れていたので綺麗にしてくださったとのこと。これで本当に６００円でよろしいんで！？

最近は使い捨てが当たり前の風潮になっていますが、良いお品を長く使うっていいですよね～😊
