On Saturday last week I went to my favorite Wagashi shop with my friend after lunch.
About lunch, here (Ohmi-beef🐂)!
At this shop, named Saka Yamakawa, my tea-ceremony teacher often chooses the sweets when she holds tea ceremony. And she prepares Yamakawa's sweets for every lesson.
🍡Today's Wagashi🍡
Matcha and a wagashi for tea ceremony |
Particularly Japanese sweets for tea ceremony (usually called Saka) has it's own story!!😲
For example, "Yuki-no-Asa", which I chose, means "The calm winter morning after snow".
And when we look at this elaborate confectionery, such a scene came to our mind that..
Early in the morning the ground is completely covered with snow.
On the snow-covered bundle of woods, there are camellias and fallen leaves.
Such a sweet is not only delicious but also enjoyable to see!! Saka is really deep.
"Chiyo-musubi" How lovely! |
When we enjoyed conversation, the shopkeeper presented us with a pretty sweet, "Chiyo-musubi"😍
"Chiyo" means "forever" or "long time period" in Japanese, and he said that this is eaten on a happy day (event).
To be sure, it was a very joyful and happy day to me!!😊
With my friend. By accident both wore orange kimono cardigans😄 |
Thank you for your reading!!
