Wagyu of Shiga with red wine. Good taste, Ohmi-gyu! 大津で近江牛を気軽にいただく会!!

Hi!😁

It has got colder for a few days and gloves are necessaries of outing. How about you?
On Saturday last week, I had lunch with my friend who also like kimonos!

We visited the restaurant of Oomi-beef, which is one of the big three beef brands in Japan
(Ohmi-, Koube- and Matsusaka-). Wagyu (Japanese beef) has become popular among foreign tourists, recently.
The HP of Matsukiya (one of the famous restaurants specializing in this beef brand) will give you more information in English. If you want to know, please click here.
(I think Oomi-beef or Ohmi is correct, not Omi beef. All words are OK?😅)

京阪びわ湖浜大津駅近くの肉バル、モダンミールではリーズナブルなお値段で近江牛を楽しめます。滋賀県特産の近江牛といえば日本三大和牛のひとつ(諸説あり)。
赤身がイチオシです!!

Oomi is the old name of Shiga prefecture, which is east of Kyoto. In this area, many people have lived on their lives since long ago because of an abundant supply of food from wide-spread forests and Lake Biwa, the biggest lake in Japan.

Near Hamaotsu station the restaurant lies. A 'cow' wearing a waiter vest welcomed us 😂haha..

Modern Meal in Otsu. You can go there on foot from Otsu station. It takes about 20 minutes.
開店10分前に到着。「乳牛」が出迎えてくれましたよ(笑)

I chose steak (lean beaf) from the lunch menu.
You can have another helping of rice (made in Kyoto) for free!!
Of course a glass of water is also for free.
A salad with sliced roast beef and a cup of soap are included.
You can enjoy all on the lunch menu by paying less than ¥2,000!
We added a cup of coffee and small dessert.
So Yammy!!!

ランチメニューは一番高くても2000円まででいただけます。ローストビーフののったサラダとスープつき。京都産のご飯はおかわり自由です!満腹!!

We are very full!!😋😋

🌸Today's Kimono🍁

A kimono: Komon (Awase). Meisen silk. A leaf pattern.
A obi: Hanhaba (half-sized) obi. A few kinds of nuts.

After having lunch, we visited my favorite Japanese sweets shop, SakaYamakawa.
I will tell it next time!!

Thank you for your reading!
